Brenton's girlfriend, Cady, was named the KCAC Position Player of the Week! Congrats to Cady (don't know if it's the hair color change or the Mulan look on field but whatever it is, keep it up!)

Announcements and Websites
Congrats to Shelby who was in the South Announcements this morning for her selection to the 2011 All Sunflower League 2nd Team.
Also, Brenton's girlfriend, Cady, is on the Ottawa Brave Athletic website for softball. She has been batting up a storm (Brenton thinks she looks like Mulan when she puts her hair up in a top bun and wears her uniform - unfortunately you can't tell from the picture as she has her batting helmet on).

State 2011 and a Look Back
Friday found us in Wichita Kansas at North Rock Lanes for the 2011 State Bowling Championship. It was a rough morning for Shelby as she never quite got in the groove and finished a disappointing 54th out of 72 bowlers (171, 161, 158 - 490 series).
In typical Shelby style, while she was disappointed in her performance, she was more distressed thinking she had let down Coach T. He was quick to point out that she has done some great things in the 4 years she bowled for the Raiders. It got me thinking that perhaps Shelby needed to look at the big picture instead of just one meet. To truly start at the beginning, note that Shelby made the team her freshman year with a 91 average. Here are the highlights of her Raider bowling.
All in all, not too shabby! It's been a blast watching her improve, inspire, and have fun! Thanks, Shelbs!

2011 Bowling Banquet
Shelby's season isn't over, but the 2011 Bowling Banquet was held on Tuesday, March 1 in the SMS cafeteria. It is hard to believe that just 4 short years ago, Shelby talked her brother into trying out for the bowling team. She has come such a long way. Shelby received her plaque for being a 4 year letter winner (I am sure that isn't the correct term, but whatever). She got a certificate for being the 2011 girl's captain, high game, high series, and high average. A great night!
